Happy Addons Review: Game-Changer for Web Design?

Editor's Rating

Overall rating
4.4/5
(4.4)
The free version serves as a strong starting point for users, while the pro version provides advanced tools and flexibility. Despite the potential for a steep learning curve for beginners and the absence of more tailored pricing options, Happy Addons stands out for its performance, reliability, and comprehensive support system.

Pros and Cons

Here are the pros and cons of Happy Addons:
Pros
  • Extensive widget library: Happy Addons provides a wide selection of widgets, including 60+ in the free version and 65+ more in the pro version, enabling creative and functional web design.
  • High performance: The plugin is optimized for speed and efficiency, ensuring fast page load times and top-notch website performance.
  • User-friendly interface: It offers an intuitive interface, making web design accessible, even for beginners.
  • Regular updates and maintenance: Happy Addons is continually updated for compatibility with the latest WordPress and Elementor versions, ensuring reliability and security.
  • Comprehensive support system: The plugin offers exceptional customer support, including 24/7 availability, a detailed knowledge base, and an engaged community.
  • Flexible pricing options: Happy Addons caters to various user needs and budgets with its free and Pro version plans.
  • Innovative features: Unique functionalities like cross-domain copy-paste and live copy enhance your web-building experience, going beyond standard Elementor functions.
Cons
  • Potential overwhelm for beginners: New users might find the numerous widgets and features overwhelming, resulting in a steep learning curve.
  • Limited search functionality in documentation: The absence of a search function in the knowledge base can hinder quick access to specific information.
  • Underutilized social media channels: While the Facebook page is active, inconsistent use of other social media platforms may limit engagement with a broader user base.
  • Lack of more tailored pricing plans: Despite flexible pricing, the absence of specific feature-based plans may limit choices for users who only need certain features.
  • Occasional accessibility issues: Some minor, temporary accessibility issues, like those with documentation pages, have occurred, though they are not widespread.

Ease of Use

I would rate the overall ease of use of Happy Addons as 4/5.

Here’s why:

  • The plugin settings page is well-organized, offering direct access to video tutorials, a knowledge base, FAQs, and support links.
  • While the installation process for the free version of Happy Addons is straightforward, the procedure for the pro version is more involved.
  • The distinction between the free and pro versions of Happy Addons could be both positive and negative, depending on the user.

Happy Addons scores well in terms of user interface and accessibility, with room for improvement in the installation process for the pro version.

The dual nature of the free and pro versions serves different user needs but also adds a layer of complexity.

Installation Process

The Happy Addons plugin follows a free plugin-pro plugin installation process where you must install a separate plugin for the pro version.

To get started, all you need to do is install the free version first to your website by searching for it on the WordPress plugin directory:

  • Go to plugins > add new plugin
  • Search for the Happy Addons plugin
  • Install and activate the plugin
install and activate the free happy addons version

If you’re here for the free version, then you don’t have to do anything since you now have access to the free widgets.

For the pro version (you need to buy a plan from their website first), you need to download the pro plugin from your account.

Then do the following:

  • Go to plugins > add new plugin > upload plugin
  • Browse through your files and select the plugin
  • Click the install now button
upload and install the pro version of happy addons

For the next part, you will need to activate the pro plugin first before you can use all the features of Happy Elementor Pro.

To enter the license key:

  • Find and copy the license key from your HA account
  • Go to HappyAddons > license on the admin dashboard
  • Enter your license key and activate it
activate the license of happy addons pro

If the license key is valid, you will be able to enable all the widgets and features labeled as pro in the plugin settings.

Plugin Settings

After installing and activating the pro plugin, you can go and check out the home page of the plugin settings.

It looks like this:

home page of happy addons plugin settings

Within the home page, you will find the following:

  • Link to the knowledge base
  • Video tutorials that open up as a modal popup
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Support links

It’s actually helpful to have those elements right inside the home page so you won’t have to manually go to HA’s website and check things out.

Another thing I like about Happy Addons is the fact that it enables all the widgets and features first instead of the other way around.

If you want to enable/disable specific widgets and features, you simply have to go to either the widgets or features page in the plugin settings.

enable all the happy widgets

You can see from the screenshot above that you can click the slider button to enable/disable a feature or use the enable/disable all button from above.

Having a button to easily enable or disable all widgets or features is already helpful — and they also added a filter for the free/pro widgets in case you’re in the free version.

👋 My thoughts here

In general, the installation process and setup went very smoothly — I didn’t encounter any bugs or glitches.

Here’s what I liked about Happy Addons in terms of ease of use:

  • The installation process is straightforward, despite having to install another pro plugin.
  • Extra features that make enabling/disabling widgets and features easy.
  • The home page rocks as it includes a lot of helpful elements.

There are not a lot of things that Happy Addons needs to improve here aside from the fact that you would have to install 2 plugins to make the pro version work.

I did a bit of research and found out that some users have some problems with updating/upgrading to the pro version.

I haven’t experienced it — but in case you do, I recommend downloading the most recent version of the pro plugin from HA’s website.

Before going into the features of Happy Addons, it's important to address the foundation of any great website — its hosting service.

Just as Happy Addons transforms your Elementor experience, Hostinger revolutionizes your website's hosting environment.

Choosing Hostinger means you're opting for a host that prioritizes affordability, reliability, and optimal performance.

Features

I would rate the overall features of Happy Addons as 4.5/5.

Here’s why:

  • Happy Addons excels in offering a wide variety of widgets and templates, even in its free version.
  • While the abundance of widgets and features is a major strength, it can also be a drawback, particularly for new users.
  • Happy Addons offers some unique and innovative features like cross-domain copy-paste, live copy, and unlimited section nesting.

Happy Addons rates highly for its extensive range of features and widgets, which provide users with a wealth of options for website customization.

However, the potential for new users to feel overwhelmed and the variable utility of some innovative features slightly moderate this rating.

Elementor Widgets

Happy Addons includes an impressive number of Elementor widgets — even the free version includes 60+ widgets!

elementor widgets from the happy addons free

Some of the most notable Happy Addons widgets in the free version include:

  • Icon and info boxes
  • Review
  • Fun factor widget
  • Image grids
  • Skill bars
  • Testimonials
  • Horizontal timeline widget

Here’s a live example of the skill bars widget:

design 2 demo of happy addons skill bars widget

What’s more — many of these widgets include presets, which you can all see after you add one to a section in Elementor.

As for the pro version, believe it or not, you will find as many widgets here that are unique from the free version.

They are also labeled separately in Elementor:

elementor widgets from the happy addons pro

Some notable ones include:

  • Hover boxes
  • Countdowns
  • Sticky video
  • Advanced tabs
  • Advanced data table

Here’s a cool demo of an advanced data table widget:

design 2 demo of happy addons advanced data table widget

If you ask me, even the demo looks really good you won’t have to install another data table plugin to your WordPress site.

I checked out what content settings I would get with the table widget and boom — you can add a table from different providers like Google Sheets, TablePress, etc.

The number of widgets in the Happy Addons plugin provides an excellent way to enhance your website's features without requiring an Elementor license upgrade.

Block-Page Templates and Theme Builder

If you feel impressed with the number of widgets, well, that number can’t hold a candle against the number of templates that Happy Addons has.

Before anything else, you might get confused about how to access these templates:

  • Create a new site part with the Elementor theme builder
  • Click the Happy Addons icon in the canvas
click the happy addons icon in the site part creation

When you click on that, you will be able to see all the available 400+ blocks and 80+ pages (these are full one-page templates).

There is also a search button and a filter button to help you find the templates that you have in mind for your website:

select from 400+ block templates from the happy addons template library

Now, what if you wanted to create your own site parts but you don’t have an Elementor Pro subscription?

For that, you can always use the theme builder feature of Happy Addons which works and feels like the theme builder from Elementor.

Best of all?

It’s available in the free version of Happy Addons — just go to the theme builder option from the theme settings:

theme builde feature of happy addons

If you already know how to use the Elementor theme builder, then you would know your way around HA’s theme builder (since it’s built on top of Elementor).

Extra Features

Happy Addons come with a lot of extra features besides the ones I mentioned earlier (although the majority kind of gives more functionality to the widgets).

Some of the notable features here are:

  • Cross-domain copy-paste
  • Live copy
  • Unlimited section nesting

The cross-domain copy-paste feature basically allows you to copy any widget with all its settings intact straight into another site.

By the way, this is a global feature — which means that you will have the capability to copy any widget (even third-party ones) to another site.

Another feature is the live copy, which answers one of my biggest concerns in designing websites — why you can’t create the exact design in the demo?

That’s not the case anymore.

Go to any widget demo page from Happy Addons — hover your mouse over a design demo and you will see a “live copy” button:

live copy a demo from the happy addons website

Another feature I want to show you is the unlimited section nesting.

Basically, you can add unlimited sections now within a single section (which was impossible using stock Elementor sections and columns).

Without a doubt, Happy Addons has one of the most useful and amazing features out there that will give you even more than the functionality of Elementor Pro.

⚠️ Note: The free version also comes with a lot of free features like the widget background overlay, floating effects, happy clone, and more.

👋 My thoughts here

For features, what’s not to like?

Numbers-wise, Happy Addons has a lot:

  • 60+ free widgets
  • 65+ premium widgets
  • 400+ block templates
  • 80+ page templates

Not counting all the features that you can get with the pro version like the cross-domain copy-paste and live copy features.

The only cons that I see here is that the sheer number of widgets and features can overwhelm new users — which can lead them to underutilize the features.

Reliability

I would rate its overall reliability as 4.6/5.

Here’s why:

  • With a page load speed of 0.02 seconds and an average memory usage of just 2.92 KB, it ensures that websites using its widgets and features remain fast and responsive.
  • Happy Addons generally exhibits strong reliability, but the temporary issue I experienced with accessing the documentation highlights a small area for improvement.
  • Happy Addons has a strong history of regular updates and maintenance, important for compatibility, new features, and security.

Happy Addons rates very highly in terms of reliability, with its excellent performance and a strong commitment to regular updates and maintenance.

The minor issue with documentation accessibility is a slight drawback but does not significantly detract from the overall reliability of the plugin.

Performance

For performance, I’m happy to report that Happy Addons does pretty well here.

WP Hive had data on it when they checked the WordPress plugin using their own test script.

happy addons did pretty well in wp hive’s test

It got the following results:

  • Page Speed: 0.02 seconds
  • Average memory usage: 2.92 KB

I also did my own test on it using the Code Profiler plugin and I also got similar results: 0.018 seconds.

happy elementor addons loaded in 0.018 seconds

What this all means is that Happy Addons is doing pretty well in terms of performance, which reflects on its 400k+ active installations and 5-star rating.

Updates and Maintenance

Happy Addons for Elementor has a strong track record of consistent updates and maintenance.

As you know, regular updates are important for maintaining compatibility, introducing new features, and addressing any bugs or issues that may arise.

You can check its changelog here:

happy addons pro changelog

Here are some highlights from the changelog:

  • For compatibility updates, HA made an update to ensure compatibility with Elementor Free 3.17.x & Elementor Pro 3.17.x.
  • HA also continuously introduces new widgets such as the shipping bar widget and creative slider widget
  • For security, a fix for a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability was implemented, which is an important security enhancement to protect users' websites.

There’s also an update that reworked the preset feature to improve its user interface and user experience.

These updates reflect Happy Addons' commitment to improving the plugin and existing features in general for a better user experience.

👋 My thoughts here

There’s nothing to complain about here considering:

  • Happy Addons has demonstrated strong performance, with a page speed of 0.02 seconds and an average memory usage of 2.92 KB.
  • It has a strong track record of regular updates and maintenance and has shown a commitment to security.

In fact, the only problem I faced was when trying to see the documentation (since the changelog page is located there).

For some reason, I couldn’t access the documentation pages (though the main site is working) for an hour (got resolved after that).

It must’ve been a temporary downtime since I don’t see other users complaining about downtimes or anything related to it.

Support

I would rate the overall support of Happy Addons as 4.4/5.

Here’s why:

  • The inclusion of a 24/7 support feature, which is relatively rare for plugins, is a significant advantage.
  • A notable drawback of Happy Addons' support system is the absence of a search function within their knowledge base.
  • Happy Addons has an active Facebook page and an inactive Twitter account, which indicates a mixed approach to social media engagement.

Happy Addons offers strong support with its around-the-clock availability, multiple support channels, and detailed knowledge base.

The absence of a search function in the documentation and the underutilized social media channels are areas for improvement.

Customer Service

Got all great points so far, so the question now is:

How effectively does Happy Addons manage its customer service? Are there numerous places available for seeking assistance?

Fortunately, Happy Addons has great customer service, with a link conveniently accessible directly from the home page in the plugin settings:

get support button on happy addons plugin settings

Clicking the link will take you to the main support page of Happy Addons, where you can see different options for asking help:

  • Email form
  • Live chat
  • FAQ
happy addons and its email form and live chat

Well, Happy Addons is doing a good here with its 24/7 support — which is uncommon for plugins and themes to have.

In case you’re wondering, they’re also strong in the WordPress forum, answering questions from users with full replies.

Here’s an example:

happy addons plugin support answering questions

Happy Addons also has an active Facebook page (and an inactive Twitter account) — although users don’t seem to engage on it too much.

I also want to add here that Happy Addons prepared a separate page where you can submit new ideas and even comment on existing ones.

Knowledge Base

Happy Addons is also doing good in terms of documentation.

The very first part of the home page in the plugin settings has a button that will take you to the knowledge base.

take me to the knowledge page of happy addons

This will bring you to the front page of their documentation, where pages are divided into three categories:

  • Happy Elementor Addons Free
  • Happy Elementor Addons Pro
  • Happy Theme Builder
the front page of happy addons’ documentation

A quick glance into the topics shows that they have covered (most likely) all the widgets and features and how to use theme.

Once you get into the different categories, pages are further organized into different folders, with the available pages appearing in the selected folder.

Here’s a sample of a documentation page:

how to install happy elementor addons pro

For the quality, the pages are written well and are direct to the point, with images and videos that show the steps explained.

Checking out other pages, I can see that Happy Addons is trying to add images and even a video to explanatory posts.

Unfortunately, I don’t see any search functionality within the knowledge base — so finding a specific post isn’t that easy.

👋 My thoughts here

Happy Addons still came strong in support, seeing that they have elements like the live chat feature and email form that tick my list.

Besides that, they also have:

  • 24/7 support (not common)
  • Multiple support channels
  • Comprehensive knowledge base

The only thing I recommend is for Happy Addons to place a search functionality in the documentation so users can find specific posts quickly.

By the way, I’m not sure what’s their deal with social media, but I recommend they set it up in a way that customers can seek help from their social media accounts.

Pricing

I would rate its overall pricing as 4.3/5.

Here’s why:

  • The free version, which includes over 60 basic widgets and a theme builder, provides substantial functionality without any cost.
  • While the current pricing is based on site count, offering feature-specific plans could accommodate users needing only select advanced features.
  • The affordability of Happy Addons, particularly in comparison to similar plugins, is a strong point.

Happy Addons stands out for its flexible and value-packed pricing structure, offering options for various user needs.

The opportunity to introduce more diverse plans and promotional offers could further enhance its appeal in the competitive plugin market.

Cost Breakdown

Happy Addons offers both a free and a pro version, catering to a diverse range of user needs and preferences.

The free version is a great starting point for users who want to extend the functionality of Elementor without any cost.

Happy Addons for Elementor By Leevio

It includes over 60 basic widgets that provide a substantial degree of functionality for web design, not to mention it also includes the theme builder.

For those seeking more advanced features, the pro version of Happy Addons is available.

The pricing for the pro version is structured to accommodate different types of users, from individual WordPress website owners to agencies managing multiple sites.

Here they are:

  1. Starter Plan: Priced at $39/year and supports a single site
  2. Professional Plan: Priced at $89/year, this plan supports up to 25 sites
  3. Business Plan: Price at $189/year made for larger agencies or freelancers managing a significant number of sites

All these pricing variations are also available in lifetime plans and generally cost around 4x their annual equivalent.

happy addons annual pricing

The pro version of Happy Addons not only includes additional widgets (over 65+ extra widgets) but also comes with other premium features.

Happy Addons offers flexible pricing options to suit different user needs, from free basic widgets to more advanced features in the pro version.

Money Back Guarantee/Refund

Happy Addons for Elementor offers a straightforward and customer-friendly refund policy.

100% No Questions Asked Refund Policy for Happy Addons

There are two important facts here:

  1. They provide a 14-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.
  2. This policy allows you to request a full 100% refund within 14 days of your original purchase if you find that the product doesn't meet your expectations or causes any issues.

This assurance is a testament to the confidence they have in the quality and usefulness of their products.

By offering such a policy, Happy Addons aims to ensure customer satisfaction and risk-free trials of their services.

👋 My thoughts here

For pricing, Happy Addons is solid here, especially with its free version availability and flexible pricing structure.

Considering the price, it’s also on the low spectrum, which means that a lot of users wouldn’t find it expensive.

The only improvement I can see is for them to create more diverse plans (maybe by specific features?) and create more promotional offers and discounts.

Final Thoughts

Happy Addons stands out as a robust tool for enhancing Elementor's capabilities.

Its consistent updates, wide array of widgets, and user-friendly interface have solidified its reputation as a reliable and efficient solution for website builders.

The plugin's dedication to performance, security, and user satisfaction is clear, benefiting both beginners and experienced users.

Wrapping up, it's vital to consider the broader picture of web design efficiency and style.

Alongside powerful addons, the right templates play a significant role in creating a standout website.
